This is weeknight cooking at its easiest: hot spaghetti tossed with butter, soy sauce, and sweet green peas. The soy sauce works like a shortcut pan sauce and clings nicely to the pasta.
Ingredients
- 5 ounces (150 g) dried spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) unsalted butter
- 2 large garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon Classic Soy Sauce
- 3/4 cup (about 90 g) green peas, fresh or frozen
- Parmesan, for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti until al dente according to package directions. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water, then drain.
- While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant and just starting to turn golden, 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the soy sauce and green peas to the skillet. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, until the peas are heated through.
- Toss in the spaghetti and add in the reserved pasta water to help the sauce coat the noodles.
- Serve hot, topped with Parmesan.
